Is component video format (NTSC/PAL) agnostic?
|
| |
I want to gift my brother in India (PAL region) a Wii that I bought in the US. He has a PAL TV with component video inputs. Will he be able to use the component video from the NTSC source on a PAL TV? Sincerely Arya

Next year (not this year) may be last season if US goes into Hyperinflation... The Canadian celebs (and production crew) probably will not lose that much of their net worth ... but the Americans may be nearly broke if they exclusively invest in the US finance system. Smallville still has 3 more production months this year, so the opportunity... more »

really, really basic questions...
|
| |
Hi all, it's been a few (ok, more than a few) years since I've had to make a serious effort to receive off-the-air broadcast TV signals, but now I am in fact a homeowner and only have cable run to one room in the house (basically, there are only so many hours in a day, and more pressing issues to deal with.) So in some rooms I have old TV's with rabbit... more »

|
| |
I'd like to invite everyone to come join the TV Antenna discussion group. It's a place to discuss VHF/UHF TV antennas (not satellite dishes) and any related hardware. It's hoped that this can be a forum where amateurs and experts alike can come together to discuss TV antenna problems, and discover practical solutions. With the US... more »

corner reflector Yagi antenna design how to?
|
| |
This design is often used for UHF TV antennae. I saw a webpage that went into great detail about determining the length and width of the reflector, but not the angle. I have noticed on TV antennae that some have a right angle, some have obtuse angle, and I even saw one with the reflector forming a circular arc.... more »

lossless H.264
|
| |
I read in some documentation for a software H.264 encoder that it supports "lossless" mode. If H.264 really has a lossless mode (which no doubt would require more bits to transmit/store), that could be a good way to handle working video data (e.g. TV production and editing).

what video (and audio) format for distribution?
|
| |
I was talking with someone about a business idea that would involve the distribution of videos to TV stations via the internet. This issue I raised is what file format to use. Apparently most TV stations have no trouble with video sent to them in the major tape formats, like Beta, Digital Beta, and DVC. I've heard that some... more »
