Subject: Scheduling rules with PROMODEL
Dear,

I am a PhD student

I need a help on modelling a manufacturing system with a PROMODEL
simulator basing on the following scheduling rules: first in first out
(FIFO), last in first out (LIFO), shortest processing time (SPT),
longest processing time (LPT), and earliest due date (EDD).

5 part types (A=800 parts, B=350 parts, C=700 parts, D=450 parts, and
E=750 parts) have to be processed in a flexible manufacturing system
(FMS) that comprise 4 CNC machines (machine 1, machine 2, machine 3,
and machine 4). The parts should be processed simultaneously in the
FMS. The total processing times consumed at the machines for the
number of parts given above together with the part flow are given as
follows:

Part Type A: machine 4 (239 minutes) --> machine 1 (34 minutes) -->
machine 2 (242 minutes)

Part Type B: machine 4 (20 minutes) --> machine 1 (9 minutes) -->
machine 3 (281 minutes)

Part Type C: machine 1 (156 minutes) --> machine 3 (136 minutes) -->
machine 4 (44 minutes)

Part Type D: machine 4 (14 minutes) --> machine 1 (87 minutes)

Part Type E: machine 1 (131 minutes) --> machine 2 (175 minutes)

It is required to determine the makespan (completion time) with the
above scheduling rules so that they can be compared.

Waiting for your help and thanking you in advance.
