2001 Corolla CE; 140,000 miles; city driving, 12-15k/year: Car eats a quart of oil every 300-400 miles (ran it low on oil a few years ago.) I’ve just been adding a quart of 10W30 (hi-milage) every week or so. 1990 Olds Stalls/Bogs on acceleration

This car is a 3.1 v6 it runs ok most of the time. But randomly out of nowhere it will bog and stall when you push the gas pedal. Then the next minute it will be fine and drive like that for awhile. Then out of nowhere the stalling and bogging happens again. What i have done so far is unhooked the exhaust thinking it was plugged, and it still did... more »

2004 Checy Silverado down't idle down

My brother has this 2004 Checy Silverado with the V6 engine with automatic transmission. If it is running along in third gear at maybe 30 or 40 MPH and you let up on the gas, it doesn't want to slow down. There is no cruise control to hang up. The Chevy dealer cleaned the throttle body and still does the same thing.... more »

Minvan stalling

We have a 1997 Mercury Voyager minivan with a 3.0 engine and about 66,000 original miles. The van willl occasionally stall on the highway...the engine surges once or twice and then shuts down at highway speeds. We coast to a stop and pull off the highway, wait five minutes or so and then it starts up and runs normally. Is this is common... more »
