Subject: mac to pc illustrator to fireworks color issues
I have files from a mac that are given to me in .ai format. In .ai or
photoshop, the colors are ok on a pc, but as soon as the file goes into
fireworks, the results are very darkened colors.  I checked and made sure that
fireworks is not using web safe colors - it's not.  The files have been tried
on 5 separate pc systems all getting the same dark color change.  I'm not sure
what can be done on either platform to avoid this or for that matter to at
least understand the issue.  The images are destined for the web.

Are the images in CMYK mode or do they have a color profile attached to
them? Fireworks doesn't understand color profiles and generally, IF FW
can open a CMYK image, the colors will are altered to RGB.
