Eric also raises an interesting point. There are programs on how IBM is pushing DB2 and doing dog and pony shows at Universities. There is a lack of programs from IBM on pushing IDS. Well that's not 100% accurate. There is a current dog and pony show that's going to hit Chicago on Oct 1 that recaps the IDS 11.5 release.... more »

System error occurred in network function

Hello, On a newly installed IDS 11.5 on RHEL 5.2 x86_64, I see the following message in online.log every five minutes: 07:41:31 listener-thread: err = -25580: oserr = -1: errstr = : System error occurred in network function. System error = -1. What could that be? Should I be worried?

XPS to IDS - a positive note for all from the road

As I had mentioned, I've been doing a number of XPS assignments lately. Good news is that these customers are ALL considering moving their XPS environments to IDS (along with doing POC's against other products). Some of the clients have relatively small XPS environments, so IDS in most cases will work fine.... more »
