Hello alt.horology people,

sorry to bother you, but I can't think who else to ask.

As the title of my plea suggests, at the begining of this month I
wound my Seiko 5 day counter on to skip the 31st and since then the
day indicator now displays in French.

I can't find the manual and I've googled in vain. My French is awful,
so I'd be forever grateful if anyone knows how to remedy this
situation.

Pull the crown out to the first position and turn it slowly to the left
(anti-clockwise). Turning it to the right (clockwise) adjusts the date.
You'll notice that the English days of the week alternate with the French
ones. You may have to move through all days of the week to return to the
correct one.

It's also best not to do this when the watch time is between approximately
11.00pm and 4.00am as the movement takes about five hours to change the date
and day and you shouldn't adjust these while this is occurring.

These instructions are for relatively late model Seiko Fives (usually 7S26
caliber). If the crown does not have two positions when you pull it out, it
may be an earlier model.
