Anarchist group posts private RNC transportation plans on website

Transportation plans for the Republican National Convention are posted
on the website of an anarchist group promising to crash the convention.

The document, which is an early version of the master transportation
plan, was leaked by a website run by a group called the RNC Welcoming
Committee.

The documents outline detailed bus routes and maps that will be used
during the four-day convention. The plan was not meant for the public.

"Does it concern me that information got out that wasn't meant for the
public? Sure it does," said Pete Panos, of the St. Paul Police.

St. Paul Police downplayed the leak, saying the document is already
outdated and is not considered a security breach.

A spokesman for the convention wouldn't say whether the document was
authentic but said, "our transportation plan is still being developed."

The group's website reads like a training manual for how to disrupt a
major event, using tactics like swarm, seize and stay. It encourages
members to block downtown streets and bridges.
[Excellent advertising there.--DC]

The group also produced a parody video that is up on YouTube, showing
masked members training for a riot, throwing Molotov cocktails and
fighting with police. It ends with the tagline "Are you Ready?"

Police say they're not as concerned about the leaked document but rather
the group’s motives to disrupt the convention.

"Every group that shows violence to a peaceful protest concerns us
because they are the catalyst that could cause more problems," Panos said.

Police say they're still recruiting more law enforcement from agencies
across the state and say they're confident they'll have enough police
presence for whatever happens during the convention.

[The story's page also includes video of the TV version of the story.--DC]

Skipper: Professor, will you tell these people who is
in charge on this island?
Professor: Why, no one.
Skipper: No one?
Thurston Howell III: No one? Good heavens, this is anarchy!
